50/100
My beautiful niece Yamini got married yesterday . To one of the nicest young men I have ever met . Mark . As my brother and his lovely wife led her into the mandap and then as the newly weds stepped up to receive blessings my heart simply overflowed ! This little girl was practically born in my arms …it seems only a few yeas ago that I came here , leaving one son with my husband in Venezuela and my other two year old with me , to help my sister in law with the delivery . And my brother playing Stevie Wonder’s Isn’t she lovely !!! Isn’t she? Simply lovely ?
And I am so kicked that my 50th Saree is what I wore yesterday for the simply beautiful ceremony in which she was given to her admiring husband .
My husband calls it the Chess Board . But I guess I made the right moves in it ! A thick raw silk in Ranee Pink with a bottle green border and with those black and white squares coming at you in a dramatic fashion . I specially bought this for this special wedding ! Thank you Raji for the lovely pictures and thank you to the random person on the Magnificent Mile who offered to take one as I walked from my hotel to the one where the Bridal party was getting ready …
Do look at and cheer the gorgeous bridesmaids who wore their beautiful sarees with so much grace and élan !!! A fitting fiftieth you will all agree I am sure…
