This is a blue Tussar silk with appliqué work done and embellished with a little turquoise velvet in the design and a thin silk border of the same color …new Saree bought to wear at my niece’s wedding in Chicago . As you my saree pacters would have seen I mostly only favour different earrings and that usually makes my ensemble . These silver earrings I bought a few years ago in Karachi . Will never forget the love and kindness showered upon me by everyone I met there … Be it in Karachi , Lahore or Islamabad and be it the doctors , patients , their families , the taxi drivers and the shop keepers ! This one in particular , who sold me these lovely jhumkas . “Aap India se hain? Aap hamaari Behen hai ” and gave them to me at a discount as heavy as they are smile emoticon
So to the Windy City where the lovely Rachel , one of the Bridesmaids to be took the #100sareepact pictures for me to posing with Raji my sister who I am with for the first time since I entered the pact and whose approval I need for everything to having fun at the Dinner hosted by the Groom’s parents to getting the Chicago Cubs fan to post with us ! The Blue Saree saw everything . And then if you are in Chicago it’s just not enough to wear blue ! You go listen to the Blues too which is exactly what one ended up doing ! Eddie Shaw who must not be less than 75 years who sang the Blues like a dream and posed with us too . My favourite one being the selfie with him and my niece Vandana Vaidyanathan
