“Do you remember this saree?”
“Yes, from the supari right?”
“How did you remember?”
“I remember it as beautiful time, huncha ni rato ramro guliyo mitho.” (you know, red is beautiful, sweet is delicious)

I am just totally thrilled that the husband remembers that this red georgette saree is from the supari day, the first day of the wedding, when his family sends me tons of gifts, including supari (bettlenut), as it symbolizes things that last. I never got around to wearing it because it was left at my home. Today, almost four years later, when I was about to drape a blue saree for bhai tika, I saw this saree peeping out of mom’s closet and the choice was made. This photo was taken by my social media shy brother.
