10/100 #100sareepact is a favourite Green and Soil coloured silk with small contrast motifs in the entire body.

Saree Story
At the onset let me apologize for not remembering correctly who has gifted this beautiful saree.
Definitely this was a gift, and as far as I remember this was by my school teacher Urmi di.
The colour combination is wonderful and it naturally has an earthy connect! The design is same in the fall and anchaal, while the body drape is in contrast colour.
The miniature designs reflect few typical marks/motifs those echo ‘celebration’!
The best way to express these designs in Bengali as ‘Alpana’…or ‘Rongoli’…

The moment/Occasion
I have worn this lovely piece quite often.
But 10/100 of #100sareepact moment will always be close to my heart.

In the morning when I wore this saree complementing with my favourite green patterned blouse and a heavy neck piece, the look in the mirror took me straight to Class V/VI days.
Yes definitely I was thinking of Urmi di whom I had met in those years in school, but instead of History, (Urmidi used to teach us History) my mirror connected with Life Science book !!!!!

The green and the soil coloured combination reminded me a word “Germination”- the process by which a plant grows from a seed. The most common example of germination is the sprouting of a seedling from a seed of an angiosperm or gymnosperm.

I first heard this word in those tender age, and I simply can’t believe the colour combination of this saree can actually remind me of Soil,Green plants, Seeds, Sprouting, Class V/VI etc etc….
After reaching office, I shared my CRAZY saree -story with Arundhati (my office photographer for #100sareepact).

Now, I leave it to you my friends, do share, how these pictures emote my ‘path-breaking’ thought and today’s ‘Germination of a Saree –Tale ‘!!!! :):)
