Today was handloom, an obvious choice on a hot day! It was a dark heat which had settled down in the hall in the morning itself.. And when I pulled this saree out I knew I wanted handloom for that dark feeling… That typical Mumbai humidity with tricky little gusts of breeze to fool you! So I chose Neel-Lohith, a grand handloom with bold weave and a smart border, and yes, dark!! And male.
My daughter has loved to wear it: it was hers at first so she has the blouse…
I paired it with a handloom blouse I’d got made for this and other sarees, with creamish thread work adorning it’s shape, and a ceramic neckpiece bought from an exhibition at the BKC…
The result, not cool, but strangely dark and smartly jazzed up for a regular college day which I didn’t want to happen in the first place! wink emoticon
Well, it was a good place for taking these photos if nothing else came out of it today!
