Joining the #100sareepact calls for a celebration, and what better than Akshay Tritiya and a dear friend’s grihapravesh to start it! The saree , Nilambari, I’d like to call it, is cotton with some mixture, one I bought at an exhibition in Kolkata. Lightweight, elegant and super cool it makes you look elegant all the way till the end of day, when the main picture outdoors, at our housing society garden, was taken.
It was a really hot day in Mumbai, 40degrees I believe but I did not suffer in the heat, especially because of the saree and the airy blouse!
The blouse .. Well that’s quite another story! It’s embroidered according to the tailor’s fancy with blue and white lines, but has a perfect fit and a smart look. Needless to say it’s borrowed from a distant cousin of Nilambari, a richer silken cousin!
The tote bag was picked up at an exhibition too, but the hand painted mother of pearl jewellery was a surprise gift from a dear student-turned colleague. Thanks Parama Ghosh for getting me to join! Happy saree hours await!
