This is another one of my new-old sarees. So I was telling Ally yesterday that how last week, my mother in law asked me “Monika, you are looking lovely these days. How come you are wearing so many sarees”. I told her about the 100 saree pact and how we are intending to bring the saree back into our lives, how we are trying to share stories behind sarees and more. She smiled at me in a way probably I can’t really explain. A smile that wondered these girls must be mad, look at me I wear sarees all the time and they are taking of brining saree back in their life. In the 10 years of being married and 12 years of knowing her I have never seen her wearing anything but a saree. She carries them so well and has some breathtaking ones (which of course I am eyeing :p). This saree was also originally bought for her in one of my chennai trips. It’s a lovely cotton in a kind of design which she loves to wear. Borders and pallu, not much work in the body and nice bright colors. Unfortunately she has stopped wearing cottons that require starch (she finds them tedious to maintain now) and the saree found its way back to me. After sitting in my wardrobe for nearly 5 years. It’s seen the light of the day today for the first time. It must be thanking you ally and anju
