Combining my love for cotton, ikat and kalamkari, Nilesh Jain helped me do a great job designing this saree from three different pieces of cloth cut from the bales/tagas/thaans. The blouse is made from a printed kutchi mashru silk. The best part is since the panna of the cloth is a small one, it’s perfect for the vertically challenged me
I wore it the first time last year for my school reunion in Pune when I going to meet my school mates after more than twenty years! I thought the saree is the best outfit for me to represent myself in front of my oldest friends, with whom I had lost touch in the intervening period because it completely defines me. I wore it again for a Diwali dinner with relatives and look forward to wearing it more.
The colour of the pallu looks different in both the pics because of the light- it’s actually a dark greyish blue or dark blueish grey:)
