Blogging, it’s given me a lot but more than anything it’s given me friends for life. Some friends I treasure and heart, some of them without even meeting once. It’s strange but it’s true that how a lot of times it is these friends I turn to when I need comfort, when I am down. It is these friends I run to when I have some happy news to share. Sometimes I wonder if it is really true that these are people I have not known all my life.

Among these are the fab girls from Kolkatta. Dipali Taneja (though she is now in Delhi), Mallika Ganguly di (you have all seen how elegant she is), Sunayana Roy and Baisali Chatterjee Dutt whom I don’t even know what to write. The bratty yet understanding sue and the most beautiful person I have met Bee… 3 years ago when I was off to Sikkim I decided to stay over in Kolkatta to finally meet these girls and was so overwhelmed by the love and warmth that I was given. These girls then took me to Byloom for an afternoon of bliss, surrounded by fabric and saree love, eating Kosha Mangsho and luchi and chatting endlessly. The memories of that afternoon are still fresh… And this is what I bought that day, my first Byloom. This is where the love affair of Byloom began for me. I remember selecting this over another one on sue’s advice, so glad I picked this traditional Bengali as close to what I own as laal par.

Shoumik Dé this is for you smile emoticon

PS: wanted to wear this in Bengali style but was afraid that the man will refuse to go with me to BDA where we are running many document errands today
