Chanderi, a small town in Madhya Pradesh, famous for its hand-woven sarees, is a renowned centre for its traditional weavers. Chanderi saree is a speciality of this region!
Its sheer texture, light weight and a glossy transparency makes it gorgeous and unique.

82/100 #100sareepact is my first Chanderi saree, a B’Day gift from a good mate.
The piece is a mix of green (banana leaf green) and yellow (lemon yellow) weave in the body, with a beautiful traditional design in Prussian blue and golden zaree in the border.
There was something very traditional about the drape, thus paired it with my ethnic blouse. Later, the neck piece, light make-up and bindi took the charge!

For long I was planning to buy a Chanderi, this was a pleasant surprise ‘gift’ indeed!
While draping my 82/100 felt connecting history and culture too. This special weaving is an old, tradition that was available since 13th century. In the beginning the weavers were Muslims and later in 1350 the Koshti weavers from Jhansi were migrated to Chanderi and settled down there. During the Mughal period the cloth business of Chanderi has moved to peak.

The magic of Chanderi drape is the 3D effect of the saree, which rebounds through the different shades and colours of the weaving.
The colour, the saree, the texture all created an essence of GREEN. The environment, the trees made it greener and an evergreen shot got clicked!

Here ends my Chanderi chat today. 🙂
Hope you guys have enjoyed the same. 🙂 Stay tuned with my upcoming saree tales…..
