This year has been one of heavy travel and being away from home for me. Although professionally very exciting and fulfilling, strangely enough, instead of getting used to it, every trip becomes tougher and tougher 🙁 and I miss my kids, hubby, home….

Back after one such long trip, I was recently at an exhibition when I spotted this simple black and white tant with kantha embroidery in a “home” theme. It was an instant connect for me 🙂 The off white saree has tiny black houses all over. The border and pallu bring out the village home – a little hut, complete with a fence, trees, birds, sun, and a little group doing the warli dance 🙂 All of this in stark black over white, a beautiful work of art tugging at my heart strings and reminding me of my loved ones.

I was looking forward to drape this and found the perfect occasion yesterday – a special day indeed – my daughter’s birthday. Teamed the saree with a black sleeveless pullover (just to show I knew it was winter :-)) and black danglers.
Feeling blessed indeed with my little home.
