Had an urge to wear orange today, so started looking through my wardrobe and found this one. Purchased a few years back, and already well worn, this bright cotton saree still looks grand and feels cozy, like the comfort of an old razai 🙂

#34 – with an earthy color combination of mustard orange with a subtle red and green ganga jamuna border and a flamboyant hand embroidered maroon pallu. I found this saree in the display window of a shop in the olden parts of Pune, when I was out shopping for something else that I can’t remember. The moment I saw it, I wanted it. Turned out to be quite a bargain as well 🙂 Have draped this saree several times, with different blouses and different accessories, but always with a big red bindi!

The picture today has an interesting tale. Clicked by my little one, he managed to get his finger in front of the camera, blocking the best part of the saree – the pallu. I was in a hurry and thought I would check it later. When I saw it later that night, I thought I would click another one, but then felt this picture was almost like the proverbial chaand pe daag, building in an imperfection into a perfect saree  So here it is, the picture as is, much to the delight of my little one!
