The title would have been apt for saree no. 50 but providence and sudden heat made this saree #32 🙂

Not sure of the origins of this saree. Looks like a Poona cotton to me. Kind of remember Dad buying this years ago before I shifted to Pune. No point checking with him; he wouldn’t remember a saree he bought this morning 🙂 Mom has no clue either. And the only help Di could provide (it is her saree, or at least was, till I rescued it from the treasure chest) was that it was her only Maharashtrian saree and she wore it with a long sleeved maroon blouse…

So with this sketchy background, here is saree # 32. A non descript grey cotton, with a lovely border in red, white and gold. The cotton is super fine and drapes very well, with a smooth feel that stays in place all day long. The saree has fine vertical white lines running all through it, which give a lovely sheen to the otherwise dull grey.
Draped it this morning with my perfectly matching kalamkari blouse and danglers 🙂
