A post that is all about #100sareepact and what it has come to mean to me. Friends, old and new. Geographically scattered but together in our pact, wearing our sarees and sharing our life stories.

The first time I met Pam, it never felt like I had not met her before. She left me with many gifts and much learning to return to her other home to Washington D.C. You’ve all read how much India is a part of her too.

Asha lives in Bahrain. We met online on the pact and then in person yesterday, as she has come to her other home, Bangalore.

Again, never met before, didn’t feel like we were meeting for the first time.

Meera, our resident – makes everyone laugh – pacter. But we all know that it takes an incredible amount of living, and life experiences, to make light of life itself.

She lives in that beautiful twin city of Bangalore, Whitefield, a bridge from traffic hell, and work, separates us from meeting more often.

So here we were all four of us, having chai, talking all evening.
If any of you suffered hiccups, it’s because we spoke of almost all of you too.

Pam was represented in my gift from her. Saree #77, a butter smooth, block printed, tussar silk.
