#100sareepact has given me that platform to come up with so many offbeat stories of my life through these sarees.
37/100 piece depicts a sad one 🙁

Saree Story
This was a surprise gift by one of my teen -hood artist friends during the cold months of November, 2011.
This crème based bapta cotton, had a unique 50:50 solid colour of crème and earthy pista shades.
The USP of this specific saree was the amazing painting of flowers and bold stripes with brushes.
Whoever has observed the painting closely, the sheer neatness and perfect brush stokes made them understand its artistic value.
Not very pricey, the saree had a unique and elegant character with which I aspired to connect as a person.

I wore this piece for the first time, while meeting a very high profile guest, who also had a gracious personality.
This was almost a red letter day in my career; meeting, chatting and spending some meaningful and exclusive minutes with this special guest in her suite.
I still remember, I was on seventh heaven when she personally praised my drape and overall dressing sense. 🙂 🙂

Cut to, I gave this saree for the first wash in the laundry!
After a bit of gap, when I went to collect the saree, with my surprise I got a different piece, which I immediately returned.
Following this, there was an in depth search throughout for several days, but all went in vein.
My 37/100 got lost!

I still miss that beautiful saree, and I always thought creating this story for my #100sareepact
For the section of ‘Sarees from my Past’ I wish to keep this unhappy saga treasured and remembered forever….
