22/2015 #100sareepact is very unique and too personal.

I thought, re-thought, re-re-thought of how creating this offbeat story and portray to you all.
Being a typical Indian woman and from a middle class family I still believe, I have few silly and weird blocks of mind.
It’s not mental but it’s the way we perhaps, perceive our society and develop these blocks.
I consider, I am lucky to have a family who has never ever shown or injected social stigmas in us.

Menstruation cycle is one such aspect which we normally abstain from discussing.
At the same time I also believe it’s nothing to be discussed, it’s normal, very normal like how sun shines, or clouds form, or we take food….. But complication rises if anything goes wrong in the process. If anyone faces an issue relating the cycle, as a woman we have a tendency to hide, don’t share or discuss with doctors or family. And these at times might culminate into dangerous results for us.

22/100 saree is one such piece, through which I would love to celebrate my womanhood.
It is a 50:50 Maroon & Black coloured base with abstract prints that gives a very busy look.
I always pair this saree with one colour contrast blouse; black being today’s match 🙂

This is one of those favourites (this is extremely my individual thought and execution. I do not refer or indicate any generalized statement) which I love to choose and drape as office-wear so that feel at ease, comfortable, relaxed; it hugs me like the colours of mother and takes care of me in ‘THOSE’ days.
I don’t need to worry the external world since am at peace as the saree takes care of me ….!

Just a note for all the ladies, and gentlemen, I hope you all know what is Ambubachi?
This saree story has a direct connect and thus thought of adding up an angle.

The Ambubachi Mela (Pron: ˈæmbʊˌbɑ:ʧɪ /ˌæmbʊˈbɑ:ʧɪ ˈmeɪlə / mi:lə is an annual Hindu mela held at Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati, Assam. This yearly mela is celebrated during the monsoon season that happens to fall during the Assamese month Ahaar, around the middle of June, when the Brahmaputra river is in spate. It is the celebration of the yearly menstruation course of goddess Kamakhya. It is believed that the presiding goddess of the temple, Devi Kamakhya, the Mother Shakti, goes through her annual cycle of menstruation during this time stretch. It is also believed that during the monsoon rains the creative and nurturing power of the ‘menses’ of Mother Earth becomes accessible to devotees at this site during the mela. There is no idol of the presiding deity but she is worshipped in the form of a yoni-like stone instead over which a natural spring flows.

This year as per the calendar it started from 22 June.
In my 22/100 #100saeepact story, I copy pasted the above paragraph; I did not want to add anything.

Just a note, it is a natural blooming, a nature’s gift to femininity and womanhood.
Let’s celebrate and accept this Flow….. I believe it adds a Glow 🙂
