28/100. The crazy phase at work continues. Everything seems to be topsy-turvy. To add to the fun, the brat’s school reopens tomorrow. Which means this weekend has been a flurry of finishing up holiday homework, putting the finishing touches to the projects, and of course, getting new uniforms, new bags, new shoes, new everything.

This dark between cotton handloom with its reason is that this brown cotton handloom with its mustard and orange border and colour-blocked, orange, fuchsia and green palla served to be the right saree to tackle the day head-on. This saree, though not really very unusual, is one of my favourites. First, because this is my first buy from Byloom – a store that in the four odd years of its existence, has already become a must-visit for anyone coming to Kolkata. Second, the dabu-print cotton blouse in shades of mustard and orange, also from Byloom is my first-ever, and till date, only readymade blouse. I was running too late to give this saree the accessory love it deserves. I put on my default pair of tribal, silver earrings and first four mismatched silver bangles almost on autopilot.

Quite a good choice though, considering that I seem to be having trouble keeping track of whether I am coming or going. Don’t the photographs – taken by my young friend and colleague – capture my ‘ eyes-wide-shut’ frame of mind perfectly? Almost as beautifully as they capture the uncomplicated pleasure of wearing a favourite saree after ages!
