17/100 #100sareepact is a Lucknowi Chikankari Sarees
Chrome Yellow colour shines like a bright summer day, and I preferred wearing it with a contrast black kantha blouse.

Saree Story
I absolutely don’t remember when, how, from where I bought this piece.
It’s just that I was simply fascinated with Chikankari work for its simple yet inviting nature. This Georgette with such an electrifying combination of bright yellow and intrigue white Chikan must have triggered my impulse buy 😉

Saree Moment/Occasion
This bright office-wear also triggered a lot of interactive discussion among my colleagues.
As expected, suggestions and guess-works flourished regarding the saree story/theme of the day!

“Summer sunny days are yellow, that’s the theme”, Miss A uttered.
While, Mrs Y confirmed, “No, she is a bit off-beat you see. This must be connected with yellow fresh mangoes of this season”….
“Holud Champa- Yellow Champa**” tree, became the shooting spot, where the yellow saree made my femininity blossom more.
(**Many English speakers also simply use the generic name “plumeria”. In Persian, the name is “yas” or “yasmin”.
In India, the name is “champa” or “chafa”, in Telugu “Deva ganneru” (divine nerium), in Manipuri “Khagi Leihao” . In Hawaii, the name is “melia”, although common usage is still “plumeria”)

But as usual I had to connect the story to something weird… Thus dedicate today’s Yellow & Black combination to my childhood connect with ‘Taxi-safari (cab ride)’ of City of Joy. (Kolkata cabs http://kolkatacabs.com/home.html )
When we were kids it was not this entire yellow taxi, but a combination of yellow & black.
I desperately looked in Google images, to get those vintage black & yellow taxi references to be framed together in this 17/100 moment photo. But failed miserably!
Tried my luck to create this image collage, hope you like it.
