Got my nails done so had to wear a matching saree, that too on a Friday! This is what the saree pact has done to me!! 😇😇

A Tussar silk in bright pink really adds the mood to the weekend. Tassles crocheted with tiny bells. A high neck, sleeveless blouse adds a chic look 😉 My blouses are made by 2 people, one my really close frieRekha Rudradra and another person Venkatesh, my humble tailor. Venkatesh has been my tailor for more than 15 years now and I know him from when he was a young apprentice. A soft spoken highly dedicated boy, who has literally grown up as I was watching. I have been to his wedding, his wife Jyothi a lovely person and always has masala tea ready when I visit them. Just the way I like it. His two kids are smart and look forward to my visits as I always take something for them. Venkatesh speaks a smattering of English and Kannada, Tamizh really well and has the ability to translate all hare-brained designs into reality. ☺☺ He is very upfront and will tell me some designs are totally useless and he will not waste material. His workmanship, very neat and precise and he has the ability to make a lovely copy of anything you give a sample of. He is passionate about his skill and is pretty pleased with what turns out each time.

I have advised him to take an insurance, both medical and life to take care of emergencies. I tell him to pay his wife when she helps him with his work, so that she feels empowered and proud that she adds value to his work. And happy that she is making money.

Thanks Venkatesh for making clothes that fit really well ! He doesn’t have a facebook account and will not read this but I would still like to dedicate this to him.
