A cotton block printed number purchased from Lakshmi Silks on MG Road, when I was with Deutsche Software – it is now merged with HCL Technologies. Some wonderful friendship formed there. My colleague Jyothi Shetty helped me, and herself, pick up the saree. Not that I needed much help there. Heh!!
Cut to 2015….
Celebrating my trusted lieutenant, youngest team member – Omi Kumari ‘s Birthday. I had not wished her on Monday on her actual birthday. Was planning to surprise her on Tuesday. So planned with the others that I will get a cake from a dear friend Sriram Aravamudan.
Omi was visibly upset that I, the Boss, had not wished her on her birthday and was actually venting with another team member. 😎😈
Sneaked in the cake quietly (I was actually quiet 😇) and another team member organised the cake cutting in the pantry. Omi was most thrilled and happiest when we surprised her!! She thanked me several times and confessed that she was upset that I had not wished her. Thrilled to have made her day!!!! 💞🎂🎁😊😉
Of course the cake was demolished in minutes. I haven’t even paid for it as yet…. Lol!!!
Colleagues form such a vital part of the office network and many such relationships develop into a lifetime friendship! Glad to have her on my team. Happy Birthday Omi!!
