Sarees ares special!
Sarees are special. They tell stories and remind you of treasured times which bring about a smile on your face while you may be busy staring at the computer screen and tearing your hair apart to meet the client deadline. Those stolen moments make an otherwise unbearably hot summer day, bearable smile emoticon Last weekend my husband’s paternal aunt and uncle (Pishi and Pishemoshayi) celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and to celebrate the golden couple I chose to wear a “Chettinad silk” which my mother in law had handpicked for my wedding trousseau, as my “Lojjabostro”. In a Bengali wedding, “Lojjabostro” is the saree gifted from the groom’s side of family which is somewhat used as a dupatta for the bride during/after the “Sindoordaan” ceremony. In the top left corner, is a photo of mine from my wedding where I am holding the same saree over my head, as my “Lojjabostro”.
