12/100. I admit it. I have a favourite. While I love all my plants very much, there is one that is special.

I loved her from the moment she came home – a scraggly, little plant heavy with the most beautiful, tiny, roses. Pinkly perfect and just that bit wild.

Since that day nine years ago, not a single day has gone by when she has not gifted me at least one bloom. On even the most grey of days, she can make me smile.

This summer, too, she is showing off her blooms while lesser plants wilt in the blazing sun. She is too beautiful to not be photographed. So, I decided to take a leaf out of the way she lives her life. I decided to brave the scorching sun in a white, pink, grey and gold Bengal taant.

This saree was woven on the other side of the Indo-Bangladesh border and has been borrowed from my mother for the #100saree pact. The delicate colours are balanced by the checked weave, making this saree ideal for work as well.

Apart from the fact that they are both really pretty, this plant and this saree have one more thing in common. They are both proof that whoever said pink is only for sugar-sweet delicate darlings had no idea what HE was talking about. 🙂
