3/100 #100sareepact

This last week has been quite stressful work wise as well as health wise, so to perk myself up I decided to wear this gorgeous south cotton yellow saree with a maroon green, ganga yamuna border on our lunch date today.

This is one of my oldest sarees (approx 15 years old I think), amongst the first I bought after I started earning. I picked it up from a small handloom saree shop in T. Nagar, Chennai for a measly sum of Rs. 799/- but it’s amongst the most priced possessions in my wardrobe. Having worn it innumerable number of times, I still remember how once it had gotten stuck in the wheel of my chair at work. My heart broke as the saree tore while I was frantically trying to get it out of the wrenched wheel. I spent half of that weekend sewing up the torn end.

The happy colours, the intricate weaves and the lovely memories just make this one so so special. I JUST LOOOOOOVE THIS SAREE. PERIOD.
