8/100.. # 100sareepact.
“When that April is the coolest month”… Forgive me Chaucer! It really is, ’cause IT’S OVER! May holidays begin. On the last ‘working’ day, there lunch at college, feeling blessed for a good conclusion to the term. Chose a somewhat auspicious looking saree.., block print. South cotton style border again, but with ‘shubh’ motifs all the way. There’s Lakshmi’s feet, flowery alpana, a Kalash with mango leaves and coconut, and the smiling sun god printed all along. And there’s the focused print along the pleats, marking it off with the temple border and red as in the pallu. Love it. It’s called Shubhaa by the way!
And it’s cool and soft because it’s roll pressed and not very stiffly starched.
The blouse is simple but shiny smart खण ‘Khan’ ( pron. khunn, not Khan , nor khoon, my Bengali friends😎) .

I just wore another Banjara special, around the neck, a gift from a friend, and the earrings I bought recently.. You know, impulse buying at a mall.

Happy holidays to all who have it, to the others, go for it!
