Although I am born and brought up in South India for the first 19 years of my life, I have worn only western garments. Ironically after I got married and moved to the US for the past 25 years, especially for the last few years, our traditional sarees have been a huge part of my wardrobe and I am very proud to say that I now have a penchant for sarees, wear them about 6 times a week and totally love it. Realized that once in a habit of wearing sarees you begin to realize that this simple unstitched garment offers more grace and charm then any other western outfit out there.

Simple, inexpensive sarees can be as attractive as grand silk or designer ones, when worn the proper way and adorned with a positive attitude and smile. I love teaming my eco friendly cotton sarees with equally eco friendly terracotta jewelry for that pop of color. Strangely enough sarees are more appreciated by Indians and foreigners alike in the western world, more than in our parts of the country where it first originated. I have minimized shopping for skirts, jeans, dresses and even churis after I took to sarees.Yes, sarees are harder to maintain, especially outside India, but the little extra effort is well worth it.

Thank you beautiful ladies Ally Matthan and Anju Maudgal Kadam for bringing out this 100 sareepact and exposing this beautiful almost weaning garment to the world at last.
