1/100-I have been a saree lover since my childhood days. I used to always adore all the lovely sarees that my mom used to wear. In my medical school it was mandatory to wear saree for anatomy dissection class as a symbol of respect to the cadavers. My initial saree tying was very primitive with many occasions where I had to run to restroom as my saree would come undone in so many places :(.Overtime I got better at it. After marriage I got a chance to shop on my own and buy my sarees. I love to collect different kinds of sarees.
This particular saree is a Bishnupur sonamukhi hand painted pure silk saree that I bought from my friend who has an online store(Atullyam couture). I wore this for my birthday in April 11th in sequoia national forest(backdrop is the bark of a huge sequoia tree). It had just snowed 3 days ago there , so it was very cold outside but my urge to wear a saree for special occasions is so strong that I had to pack this saree and take for my birthday. I paired it up with a sleeveless high collared orange blouse and wore it in the cold( I had ugg boots on to keep me warm and was wearing a thick coat all along which I took off right before posing for this picture :).God do I love wearing this wonderful six yard fabric that speaks volumes of our rich Indian heritage
The title drew me in but there is nothing mellow about this yellow saree! It is bright and bold and beautiful 🙂
