Not sure which state this sari is from, but I do know that the fabric is ahimsa silk because the person who gifted it to me had mentioned it. Apparently in the production of regular silk, silkworms in their cocoons are submerged in boiling water to kill them and spool the yarn. But with ahimsa silk, the cocoons are left to mature for about 7-10 says till the worms mature and morph into moths. Only then are their abandoned cocoons used to make silk. How fascinating!
