Here are two kanjeevarams beautiful in their respective ways.
These pictures were taken at home by the press photographers 3 to 4 days prior to my 2nd Tanjore painting exhibition here in Bahrain in 2011.
My second exhibition was where I showcased women from all walks of life in Tanjore art… right from Raja Ravi Varma to the dancers of the Mughal Empire to village belles… clad in sarees!
The yellow saree seen here has an intricate kasuti work and a tissue pallu which gives a splendid look to the saree.
The maroon one has a thick jacquard texture because of the weave and a typical heavy kanjeevaram pallu and a small border.
I’m looking forward for a chance to wear these two sarees in the pact this year.
