Wore this black crepe saree at the Eco Habba on Saturday where a friend was storytelling and I was helping her out

This saree belongs to my mom. I have vivid images of her in sarees – crisp, starched cottons, flowy chiffons and crepes, elegant silks. She used to get different kinds of blouses done with her sarees – high necks, Nehru collars, sleeveless ones, 3/4th sleeves. I remember her wearing them so often to her school (she was a teacher) and to all the army parties. She carries them with such grace and elegance. At the same time she has this child like enthusiasm for all things new. Dearest mommy I love you!

And my son thought I looked cool, the “yo” kind of cool in a saree
