Anju Maudgal Kadam, Ally Matthan thank you for this double endeavor of making us all bring out our sarees and also making us go back to our memory lane.. can’t thank you girls enough as I checked my wardrobe.. a story behind every saree spurred past my mind like a blitzkrieg of episodes for each of those sarees!
Here’s to #100sareepact 1/100.. finally made a start..the guilt immediately struck that its been long since i wore a saree now.. last one was a 9 yard iyer drape saree on a sumangali prarthana day..a month ago! shd repeat more! i realise…
This kerala style saree was a gift from MIL’s sister ..just a casual gift.. MIL’s 7 other sisters and herself..have this thing about randomly gifting each other sarees every now and then, that list often includes nieces, daughters and daughters-in-law even.. thats how this beautiful cream and gold came to me from Nalini Chitthi a couple of years ago. The saree was actually a plain one when i got it. Varsha Shanbhag a dear friend, gets warli work done on sarees for close knit relatives and friends.. done by hubli artisans..
