This is the saree of the year in which my younger one also went into college, and left us with the “empty nest” syndrome. It was a memorable year in many ways…he had worked really hard and got accepted at various institutes and made us very proud and happy!

It was also the year I fulfilled my wish to visit the northeast region…I bought this Assamese saree in Guwahati, with its typical handloom pattern in the pallu. A vision of the mighty Brahmaputra, a visit to the Kamakhya temple, and then a combined visit to Cherapunji and Shillong, all marked a truly fulfilling year and this saree is a wonderful reminder of all that and more.
