Khadi gets a face-lift!
February in Delhi/NCR region is very happening due to many fests in and around. From Urdu festival to Sufi International Fest, from Mini Pallete fest to Basant Mela…the list is endless. On the second day at Jashn-e-Rekhta (a festival celebrating Urdu language), we had the pleasure of enjoying a two-hour long Qawwali by the Sabri Bros. I wore this deep-Red / Turmeric-Yellow Khadi sari , a creation of Manas . It is amazingly light with raised weave in white/black on the anchal with colorful pom-poms at the edge ! The weave is also as a patch on the shoulder .The woven dashes on the side of the sari appear like Kantha-stitch and fall on the side instead of on the pleats at the waist. With thin yellow border on one side and black on the other with tiny triangles, the entire look was so different, I simply could not resist picking it up a few weeks back. The loose-fitting choli that I made myself a week back enabled me to try two different drapes, one for the morn’ Event at the North-Eastern festival at Pragati Maidan and then the reverse drape at the Urdu fest. Simply loving this new addition to my collection!
