#52 – Mom’s saree, that had been a gift to her from me many moons ago, now borrowed back. My fav combination in printed silk – black, white and maroon. The saree theme is about a group of very busy people going about their farm chores, aptly supported by horses, elephants, deer, etc. The border has a lovely procession of these folk and their animals, with some of the folk riding the animals in question. Pallu is grand, with a herd of elephants marching majestically along the procession.

Loved the geometric precision of the figures, and of course the charm of the earthy maroon hue on the black and white background.

Accessorized with a long black beaded neckpiece – a gift from Di, and a big maroon bindi  Draped for a presentation on HR practices in India for a group of firang colleagues!
