Another favorite and a well worn saree this time 🙂

#44 came to me as a part of my wedding trousseau, as a simple silk in a lovely peacock green and deep aubergine combination, and a tiny zari border. Picked by my Mom, as per my specs for a simple silk in a nice color combo and no print please 🙂 and looking quite different from what it does today!

I draped this one for many small functions in the early post marriage days. Then slowly, as the saree wearing frequency went down, this one got relegated to the wardrobe corners. Too simple for weddings and bit flashy for office, and worn to all other possibilities already! Then I thought of experimenting with fabric painting on this one. Thankfully, I did not try this myself, but got it done from a friend. And what a beautiful job she did! A pretty paisley design all over the saree, to match the small plump paisleys on the zari border. Done in white and aubergine, with a dash of gold to up the glamour quotient a bit. The saree was transformed into a completely new avatar 🙂

Accessorised with a green and gold jhumkas and a matching neckpiece, draped to our “Appreciation Day” event at work, where we thanked and recognized the stars among all of us, in the presence of their teams and families. A very emotional event specially for the family members, one of my favorite days at work, and a fitting occasion for this saree.
