Womanhood Recreated in #worldsareeday
A cut-piece cloth exhibition was on, out of curiosity attended and got hooked to few interesting bits!
A vibrant-sunny yellow full-sleeves designer blouse was one of my favourite outcomes.
But for long, it had no matching or offbeat contrast saree.
After a long wait, during Puja, I managed to find a wonderful saree with that yellow connect.
86/100 #100sareepact is my electrifying yellow, designer silk- saree with bright violet & red zaree borders. In fact the saree has 30% black & white print (not visible in my collage) the rest is floored with vibrant yellow & golden work.
Earlier I have worn this saree once. Even on that day while draping I felt the saree, the colour, the combination with this beautiful blouse gives a very ‘stunning’ vibe!
For me saree is all about womanhood, elegance, vibrancy… this wonderful evening-wear was just apt for our giggly-girly date on the night of #worldsareeday.
2015 has been one of my happening years of this life; good, bad, ugly whatever it may be, it has been really eventful. All the experiences have been a learning which made me purer, more-confident and surrendering to that unknown positive power of nature!
One such incident is surely joining #100sareepact movement and accepting the challenge.
I have proudly represented my state, my city, my culture!
Thus when 21 December got acknowledged as #worldsareeday #worldsareedate I along with my wonderful mate, Sukanya (another pacter, who got featured in one of my earlier stories) met, celebrated womanhood with a different spirit.
The book-store in Park Street, the lane roofed with festive lights, celebration in air, and the ‘Adda’ with a ‘Cha’, echoed true culture and festive spirit of ‘City of Joy’!
Just check our passion and enthuse. After hectic office hours, dressing up, wearing the bright saree, pairing with heavy jewellery , just for the sake of love and passion for this 6-yard, is really superb 😉 Kuddos to us … HaHaHaHa
Thanks Sukanya for being such a confidant! Thanks Payel (whom I have never met officially before but came to know to be an ex-neighbour) for these candid shots. I can feel freedom, I can feel empowered, beautiful or near to nature while wearing my sarees…. Thanks #100sareepact!
PS: We were literally thrown out of the store since it was way past the closing time and we were completely drenched in life chat, draped in beautiful sarees.
