I had forgotten how good it feels to drape a Mysore silk. The super easy drape, the slim fit look, the soft and smooth caress of the fabric, and the simple elegance of the saree…. Used to have two sarees that had been purchased from KSIC but somehow managed to tear both 🙁 one under the wheels of my office chair. Haven’t draped a Mysore silk after that day, until today.

Getting back to work after Diwali vacation needs motivation, and I thought a saree would do the trick. A part of me still wanted to hold on to the festive mood, so I wanted a saree that was simple enough for work wear but still had a rich festive feel to it. So up came this Mysore silk from Mom’s treasure chest. One of the sarees she had bought over 25 years back, for Di’s wedding. The rama color with purple border, the tiny jari border, have all maintained their sheen despite the years….

Hmmm….. looks like my next saree purchase will be in Mysore silk 🙂 Until then, in love with this one, #28.
