Saree is one of the world’s oldest and perhaps the only surviving unstiched garment from the past over the millennia , it has not only become a sensuous, glamorous all-time-wear for Indian women, but also the “canvas” for weavers and printers to create artistic weaves, prints and jewelled or gold-silver embellishments !
saree has no parallels in terms of versatility, richness of colour, texture, and variety of weaving techniques using different kinds of yarn, including cotton, silk, gold and silver thread , because of these handloom sarees are my only choice.

I would like to start my saree pact with the story of my first draped saree . First time I carried saree for my school farewell party , it was my mother’s lush green silk saree with broad golden border and beautifully designed golden zari pallu, with pearl choker set studded with ruby and emerald . unfortunately I don’t have photograph of that beautiful saree but its in my memory whenever I go for saree shopping first I look for my favourite green saree …still looking , hopefully I will get ” meri wali green” someday.

Saree is not only wearing but its tradition we have different patterns and styles of sarees by which one can easily recognize the specific region . This is a chanderi saree …had worn on my graduation farewell party with katak silver jewellery . usually chanderi sarees are made in traditional colours but this saree is in secondary colour and this uniqueness attracted me …had choosen this saree for my special day …..
