When Momzi met Nouka – The First Date :)
Immediately after uploading my earlier story in #100sareepact I became very sad.
I realized I forgot about a promise. A promise which I made to myself, of coming up with a first ‘Date-Date’ story for my sareepact with him.
49/100 moment of #100sareepact is a proper evening date with this young man in my life.
I was away from Kolkata in the city which never sleeps.
I visited his place, met him, waited a bit, draped my silk saree and even chose his dress for the date.
For the entire eve my feelings had a roller coaster ride; at times he was okay, at times he did not bother to look at me.
Off course it was a one-way feeling in the beginning when I desperately tried to get his attention and failed drastically. But eventually he looked, smiled, interacted, and yes, in the end planted a kiss.
It was one of those rare and precious moments of life when you get noticed and loved by a Man who is also a Date of the evening.
49/100 #100sareepact is the moment when Momzi met Nouka for the first time;
Momzi the Man, gave a special name to the woman, i.e Me in this wonderful occasion.
I was referred as ‘Nouka’ (Nouka, a Bengali word meaning Boat in English)…
Nouka wore a wonderful dark maroon- brown silk with cream borders; heavy ikkat work on the anchaal. The entire look changed with a ‘nath’ (nose ring), a typical Maharashtrian design which I specially bought for this night.
49/100 moment is a visit to myself with a musical /innocent childhood of me. Momzi is so much like me 🙂
After a loooong time this evening was very special and relaxing.
Hope one day Momzi will remember this date and smile, and yes he might officially declare I was indeed his First date!!
Love you Momzi!
Nouka will always be there sailing in the river Jhelum …Have a wonderful life ahead.
beautiful the date is and with an interesting story….
Hi jhelum,
a very happy navratri to you…i am kanchan…from mumbai..homemaker and a hands-on-mom to will-not-sleep-will-only-run-will-not-eat 2 year old toddler.
I got hooked to the 100 saree pact just by chance. I admire your lovely sarees, the blouses especially..which you so cleverly mix and match and but of course your intricate jewelry !!.
its been since almost 3 months when i keep checking for updates on the pact and took this chance to appriciate the zest you women show towards an attire that once not so long ago was considered very “behenji”..
The pact, though i am yet to join, has got me reaching for my sarees again which were silently put behind in the wardrobe post the arrival of my bundle of joy. I am now getting alll their blouses redone as none of them no longer fit me post my baby.
The pact has also got me out of my comfort zone of chiffons and georgettes..to the world of colourful cottons which i have always dreaded in the past to drape..
Soon will join the gang of the lovely ladies and their love for an attire which is the most elegant in the world (..but a score of 7/100 in a span of 2 months is not bad too..but was too reluctant to join you guys)
