Surrounded with colors of sunshine all around today, color of the day being yellow 🙂 Ladies around me have taken to wear dressy sarees in the Navratri colors all the 9 days, and it is fun to sync up every morning and see how many different shades of the same color can exist! I mean even a red can be blood red, cherry red, brick red, muted red….just to name a few…whew!

#11 on the pact is a pure silk batik in haldi kumkum colors (and I borrow this term from the ever graceful Smita). This color combination always reminds me of tradition and festivals, perhaps because for Maharashtrians both these colors are considered auspicious and the most common combination for brides during the actual wedding ceremony.

As for batik print, this has always been a favorite for me and you will see more batiks from me on the pact 🙂
