I find myself looking for occasions to wear a saree and a visit to the amazing Durgania Templee, Amritsar was one valid reason smile emoticon.
A must visit in Amritsar along with the Golden Temple , Wagah border , chat wali gali , kesar Ka dhaba, kulcha land, Sarhad…..the list is just endless. This beautiful temple housing all the deities is situated in the heart of the city and one can spend hours just gazing at the marvellous craftsmanship polished in gold on the walls of this temple. Surrounded by water on all sides with huge carved silver doors this temple is the abode of a number of deities….Durga, Shani, Ganesh ,Laxmi , Lord Rama, Vishnu ,Saraswati , a 600 year old Shitala Devi temple and a sitting Hanumanjee which is very rare to find. The temple has accommodation for travellers along with shops selling chappan bhog (56 varieties of sweets). This temple was the last on my to visit in this trip list and I wished I had been there earlier so I would have got to visit it again.
Coming to the saree story this one is a soft a oh-so-delicate to the touch chiffon in my favourite shades picked up from Pacharangi Jaipur . A must visit store in Jaipur with mind blowing collection of sarees and dupattas . Accessories courtesy Nnazaquat ..silver and pearl danglers with a big pendent and a delicate chain.
