A Kanjeevaram I bought in Bangalore almost 20 years ago . The pearl colored silk still shimmers like new and I love the thread work on the border and Pallu . A timeless color combination and my green danglers from yesterday the only accessories once again . A Lymphoma Awareness Meeting later in the afternoon was on my calendar for today .
Traffic was hellish this morning and I was more than an hour late for my first meeting of the day . A friend going to Udaipur had promised to take a little gift for our friend and guide Munna and I was to rendezvous with someone who would take it to him just before the Sea Link . The poor guy had waited 🙂 and so sweetly said it was perfectly ok !
The approach to the Sea Link is one of the most beautiful vistas in Bombay today and it was too tempting not to do the Pact Photo right there !
And I forgot my traffic woes once I was at work . Fellow advocate from Portugal Sofia Sá Cardoso of the Portuguese Lymphoma Society had a unique idea to commemorate Lymphoma Awareness Day and during lunch break we all got together to do our bit and share it on social media . Soap Bubbles for Lymphoma Awareness . All over the world people were blowing bubbles into the air bringing attention to Lymphoma .
In Bombay at the Tata Hospital , veteran and tireless advocate, herself having faced and overcome Lymphoma and founder of V Care Vandana Gupta and her team had organized an event attended by patients , caregivers and physicians . We Need to Talk about Lymphoma was the slogan and call of the day . And that’s exactly what everyone did . The best oncologists were available for discussions with patients and their caregivers and it was wonderful to see the most seemingly simple queries being answered with utmost care and compassion . The best of physicians .
It is such an honour to know and work in the midst of such committed people . Always learning and honing skills .
And their friendship is something I cherish dearly .
Over tea , after the event , it was wonderful to be the target of their fond ribbing and teasing : Face Book Queen they call me 🙂 So, is this Saree number 80 asked Dr Manju while Dr Tapan insisted that knowing me , the Saree Pact Photo which all of them posed for so sportingly would be up in the blinking of an eye !!!!!
