Saree #9
Dated August 28, 2015
Occasion: Onam

Saree story: I’m repeating the same saree that was bought in Bolpur, Kolkata this year. This saree is my 1st purchase from the East. Special mention of Tailor bhaiya who has his small shop at the main entrance of our residential society. He stitched the blouse in few hours only and as it needed a linen, and there was none available at home, I cut a piece from my husband’s same colored angavastram 🙂
When we were in Bangalore till couple of years back, we had many malyali friends and this malyali blouse was one of my favorite, and as this was a part of the saree itself, I wanted to get it prepared withour further delay.
I’m wearing pink pearl set that was gifted by my brother many many years back, I think he had bought this during one of his trips to China. This was timely on the occasion of Rakshabandhan next day 🙂

My husband was asking me a day before if we can locate a good place to have Onam Sadhya, and one of the moms’ networks on FB helped me with a place that was offering Onam sadhya. We pre-ordered a day in advance as it was prepared by a group of moms.

After 8 years of marriage, I’m able to prepare basic south Indian food, but for this kind of full meal that is prepared on special occasions, I need for sure some more good amount of time, but I’m hopeful that I will be able to do it soon 🙂

On this note, a very happy Onam today and a very Happy Rakshabandhan next day to all!
