This remains my first saree purchase after joining sareepact, and I saw this on gurgaonsareechallenge page, an initiative that was started in Gurgaon following the primary 100sareepact at Bangalore by Ally and Anju.
Multitude of colors attracted me instantly to this saree. And a very lovely lady, Neha Singh Rathore profiled it in the gurgaonsareechallenge page. There I put up my query to purchase the saree, if possible, and Tripti Singh, the woman who manages the complete show of gurgaonsareechallenge, offered to get the saree for me. And from her, I got to learn more about the saree that it’s a special bhopalshahi, originally from Rajasthan. I requested her to get the saree, if possible, within 10 days, as I planned to wear it on my B’day in May. Though she was kind enough to arrange it within the time requested, but something real sad happened, our Pati (husband’s paternal grandma) expired… and I wanted to recall and capture my fond memories with her, so I did on 100sareepact available at http://100sareepact.com/?p=5929 and thru my personal blog available at http://anjanashardacsc.blogspot.in/2015/05/in-loving-memory-of-our-dear-pati-who.html?zx=c384c5fd79190685

After couple of months on the auspicious occasion of Teej in the sawan month, I and my dear friend, Monika planned to wear our respective lehariya, she is the one, whom I can reach out to any time, be it real early mornings like 6-7 am, just to get my saree draped for office meeting or even at late night, even when we decided to meet in evening to do our lehariya photo-shoot 🙂 together…the girl was in her lehariya ready for hrs together and also managed to cook & serve dinner…as of course more importantly before getting into saree-shoot after reaching there was to have a tête-à-tête over a nice cup of tea right at her kitchen, that we had been missing to share with each other 🙂 … anytime I think of her, she reminds me of one of those friends, who are not just friends in need, but a true friend indeed…someone who can be banked upon completely.

Then after a good time spent in her kitchen, when she was preparing dinner and i added another task by asking for tea for myself…we forgot to realize that it was pretty hot in there, as can be reflected on our faces also now in this story pic, she helped me yet again, this was the third time, if im not miscounting, in draping my saree and though we were planning to get the photo done by her talented photographer sister, but we both did not realize during our long lost catch up time, that she was already slept after taking her dinner, it was that late.

But, when two women makes up their mind on saree, nothing can stop, so we both still went ahead and did one selfie and her kind husband clicked the other one…if you did not like us in that one then it’s her husband in half asleep 
To our common interest in saree and to be always around and complete successfully what is decided once. Thanks Monika for everything! My best wishes for you and your family always!!
