This saree story is one of my favorites as I draped this saree ON MY OWN for the first time 🙂 and the wrinkles on it reflect how hard it was an effort for me. But it was all worth an effort, as then we had a precious hour long family puja time at home in the sawan month.
And as I did not get time to get the blouse piece cut out of it, and even wore it without a fall and so the saree got longer and so were my saree plates.
But, I could team yellow with a Santri (Orange) blouse, from one of my other sarees.

This is my first yellow Saree and I saw this on one of the posts of 100sareepact by Nirmala Nimesh Varma. I had decided then only to go for this saree that can be worn on some auspicious occasion, looking at the Puja yellow color of plain saree with golden border.

Nirmala explained further that this saree is handwoven from Ankleeshwar, near Surat. As I had two earlier sarees purchase from South India after joining saree pact, this made my first purchase from the West India.

When it got delivered, I found it even more beautiful, exactly same color and feel of cotton-silk, as I had anticipated. And I really appreciated Nirmala’s consideration to wrap it in water proof cover before dispatching for delivery. That was very thoughtful especially when monsoon season was on in Gurgaon.
