Since last two weeks not posted any story ……as MIL fell down and ……injured …..blood stitches …..blue scares….hospital….doctor….prescriptions …..medicine …..busy in all now she is much better. So I m also relaxed a little bit….today thought of pampering myself….the only attire that makes an Indian woman happy and feel good is no doubt ……SAREE. So took out my kalamkari saree as its sunny after a week rain in Ddun. The thing I like about this saree is its broad design …..basically kalamkari is a art of drawing and painting with pen the designs are very fine The Kalamkari art includes both, printing and painting. The kalamkari artists uses a bamboo or date palm stick pointed on one side with bundle of fine hair attached to this pointed end to serve seve as the brush or pen .These painting were earlier drawn on cotton fabric only, but now we can see these paintings on silk and on other materials as well. The colors used in making these paintings are organic. Most of the colors are prepared using parts of plants – roots, leaves along with mineral salts of iron, tin, copper, alum There are numerous forms and styles of this type of painting throughout the Indian subcontinent.
The story will remain incomplete if I will not mention the person who gifted me this saree ……Moneesha Paul another good friend of mine…….Bengal Beauty ……beautiful eyes……fond of sarees…….her favourite colours are black n white……an adorable person……thank u so much Moneesha for being a wonderful friend of mine…..loads of love!!!!
