# 35 As I am wearing my sarees so regularly now a days, I realise one thing that most of my sarees are approximately 20 years old. Maybe because they are from my wedding trousseau. I didn’t bought many sarees since then. But then, I would hardly wear them. Now, wearing saree is a very regular affair.

In marwari weddings, bride is given odd number of sarees in her trousseau like 9,11, 15, 21, 31….and so on from both the sides. That makes her wardrobe full with variety of sarees. Maybe unmarried girls hardly wear sarees before marriage and even if they have to, they borrow it from either mother, sister, aunts etc. After marriage she has her own new wardrobe of this beautiful new attire. While doing shopping for marriage its always kept in mind to give her a wide range and different variety of sarees. There are very heavy sarees, then not so heavy ones. There are semi-formal and casual sarees too.

This one is coming from my wedding trousseau under casual sarees category. It’s in beautiful pink (dark onion would be better to describe this). It’s tant with zari border which my sister-in-law bought from kolkata. Earlier it had a tissue golden blouse with potli buttons.I have out grown it and got a simple matching blouse stictched.

Happiness, Smile, Light and Saree…..all become synonyms to each other. 🙂
