25/100 of#100sareepact moment I dedicate to the memory of 25 April 2015!

Story-Behind the scene
It was just another day, and I was at home, when my father screamed “There is an earthquake!! “
To be honest, at that time I did not feel the intensity at all!
However after following the NEWS, I realized how the final impact was and how the earthquake had hit my nation and affected my neighbouring country, Nepal!

In the history of mankind, 25 April 2015 will be remembered as one of the worst natural disasters to strike! April 2015 Nepal earthquake (also known as the Gorkha earthquake) killed more than 9,000 people and injured more than 23,000.
It occurred at 11:56 NST on 25 April, with a magnitude of 7.8Mw or 8.1Ms and a maximum Mercalli Intensity of IX (Violent).
The earthquake triggered an avalanche on Mount Everest, killing at least 19, making April 25, 2015 the deadliest day on the mountain in history.
The epicenter was east of the district of Lamjung, and its hypocenter was at a depth of approximately 15 km (9.3 mi).

Recently a small step was taken, through an event – ‘I Bow to the Buddha in You’!
A group of individuals tried to commemorate those innumerable lives in Nepal who are fighting back in this situation!
This was really a path breaking event- a photography installation and auction, and first of its kind in the City of Joy! We partnered with Oxfam India, and gathered a good amount through photography auction and donor passes.

Story- About the saree
To witness this wonderful evening, I chose to wear, one of my favourite, tussar silks and paired it with a full sleeve, black, tussar -silk blouse.
The beige and orange combination, with sleek kantha work was an appropriate attire for this kind of evening event with an amazing set-up, lighting, innovative food, live music by pianist and opera singer…
My pearl neck-piece with silver ear ring fit perfectly to the elegant look and feel of the evening.
The dark shade with orange portrayed the perfect blend of darkness and hope of life that flows in human life….

I was blessed to participate and be a part of this fundraiser event!
I, Bow to the Buddha in those silent heartbeats and memories who have lost their lives; and those bright shining eyes, which still dream hope and fight back life’s calamity with grace…..

God Bless all!!
