On one of my trips to the Capital , I visited the famous Nalli Silk Store in Southex. This was the first Nalli store I visited although my cousin had gifted my mom sarees from the Nalli store in Bangalore. As soon as I entered the store I was awestruck by the varieties of sarees and dress material. Four floors of the most beautiful and lustrous silks and cotton six yards. I went berserk picking up stuff and in the process was utterly confused. Husband too was not much help. Ultimately picked up two kanjivarams, two cottons, a Gadwal for mom and this indigo cotton silk with geometric patterns on the body and a chain of tree of life prints on the pallu with a thin golden border. Wore it with a collared blouse designed by my dearest friend Tuhina Dwivedi and my favourite owl earrings to a cocktail party yesterday. What I loved about this one was that it was an unconventional piece amongst all the other traditional six yards.
