I was overwhelmed, when I came across Sareepact which went viral on social media! hats off to these two creative ladies, Ally and Anju, who initiated the step. I was apprehensive of joining the pact as I considered myself to be ignorant about the different kinds of weaves as I looked out only for the comfort of wearing a Saree keeping in mind the extreme climatic conditions of our National Capital. For the same reason I had no stories to tell about the origin of the saree or the weaves! But this pact has forced me to go into the details about what I wear. The hard work that goes into it before the final product looks beautiful to our eyes. It makes me aware of the worth of the attire that I wear and appreciate the intricacies involved in it. Now no more doubts about the pricing of traditional materials..only appreciation. More over, if given a chance would love to buy the product direct from the weaver so that the maximum benefit is reaching to the person who is working on it! Great thoughts Ally and Anju… once again thank you for bringing in cheers to each and every pacter …truly a celebration of being a woman wearing this special dress which adapts to the body shape!

There has been no looking back since I joined the #100sareepact on 18th June 2015. Sarees are seeing the light of the day. Though I used to wear sarees very often, used to wear it repeatedly without realising that I have many more in the cupboard to dig into…:)
