Saree #29
Wanted to do the yearly Drive to Mumbai’s must see-Mohammed Ali Road during Ramzaan…I do this inspite of being a ‘kattar’ vegetarian!….Kids who are exhausted after their evening play are packed into the car..where they quickly change into cleaner clothes…They keep hounding you with— “wherrrre are we going”..and even manage to list out a bevy of ‘A.C.-ed’ cool hip food joints..finally even ready to settle for MacD as they see us approaching the Streets where one has to jiggle into narrow bylanes for parking and walk…The Parents are unperturbed.
We undergo this every year or at every instance that we want to deviate from the run of the mill valet parked joints that they r accustomed to!
So when you are really hungry..crowd /sweat/no a.c./ nothing matters..you joke and laugh over 13 yr old son- asking for finger bowls and the genie appears with a mini steel tub and pours luke warm water to wash your hands and even manages to give you some precious tissues..that he saves for some people..and voila all the cribbing disappears just like that !—
The Parents smile quietly chewing over their Paan!
Off course couldn’t wear a Cotton or Silk Saree..don’t own anything else!
Found this Saree that I couldn’t hand over to maids…altho just not my types..but was holding onto.It was my sisters friday saree that she used to wear to office…have fond memories of her in it getting me my first Merwans Mawa Cake.
Its time to let go ……and say Khuda-hafiz!

P.S.-Even tried wearing some chamko ear hoops to go with the non breathing saree!
Dont I look like Shanno Begum?
